Wolf Creek Winery
It was such a nice cool Fall day outside today, so my brother, Tami, my parents and I decided to meet up at Wolf Creek Winery in Norton, OH just west of Akron. The view from the winery is pretty looking down at the field and pond. We got a couple pizzas from Georgio's down the street and had some cheese and wine. My mom, Tami and I took a walk down to the lake. Along the path, there are goats fenced in, so we pet them for a bit. When we were going to continue on down to the lake, two of the goats jumped over a low part in the fence. We couldn't stop laughing and I chased one of the goats around, trying to get him back in. Later on, my dad told us that one of the goats had walked up to the winery, snuck up to someone's table, jumped up on the table and then jumped on a girl and knocked her down. Unfortunately we weren't there to catch this on video!

Oak Hill Trails
I was planning on taking a day off after my run yesterday, but I couldn't resist the nice weather. Brian and I decided to try a new area of the Cuyahoga Valley that we haven't run on before. We met at the Valley Picnic Area off of Riverview Rd. and ran on the Oak Hill trails.
We started out on the Plateau Trail and took that to Chestnut Pond. We then took the Oak Hill Trail. It was pretty dark at this point, so my brother had his flashlight out. We were a bit confused by all the loops being our first time here. We came across a guy walking his dog, so we asked him for directions.
After talkng to him, we did an out and back to Hemlock Point. We then followed Oak Hill and Plateau back to where we parked to finish with 4.5 miles. It's always cool running at a new location with different scenery. We usually always run at either Pine Lane or Happy Days, so this was a nice change. For a map of these trails, click here.
BTW - MY LEG FELT GREAT!

Cuyahoga Valley Night Run
Tonight Brian and I drove over to Pine Lane to go for a trail night run. We started at the parking lot off Rt. 303 and ran to the Boston Store. Once there, we took the Towpath back to our cars for 7.5 miles. I tried to run gingerly during the run and not over-extend my stride too much. My leg felt great the whole run!

Ravenna Balloon A-Fair
Driving back to Kent, I stopped in Ravenna to meet Brian and Tami at the Ravenna Balloon A-Fair festival. They had over 25 hot air balloons take-off from the SUNBEAU Valley farm near downtown Ravenna. Below are some pictures of the balloons.

City Hall
Today I ran from my parents house in Warren to City Hall. This is a 4 mile out and back run that I haven't done in awhile. My leg felt tight as I got to City Hall, so I decided not to extend it out another mile to the old Imperial hotel. Towards the end of the run, I could feel a little pain in my quad but not terrible. I'll have to take it easy and force myself to run slower. I ran today's run in 27:36.

And the verdict is....
I went over to the rec tonight and ran with my friend Marc. We went up to the track and started out slow. My leg felt fine after the first mile, but it usually didn't hurt until 1.5-2. We picked up the pace throughout the run and ended with about 3 miles or 25 minutes. My leg didn't hurt!! I'll continue lifting and stretching and hopefully this issue is past me. After running, we went in the pool and hot tub to relax.
